My "Dev Journey" started last year in 2020, during Covid Pandemic. I always loved working on computers and designing is a huge passion of mine. But I wanted to try something different..
I started off playing around on Udemy with Html and CSS.. well and the rest is history. After 6 months, I realized that this was a career I can definitely persue, and that it will give me the opportunity to grow and learn daily. I am currently enrolled at Hyperion Dev in the Full Stack Web Developer Course.
About meWeb development is the developing of a Web site for the Internet or for a Customer. Web development can be anything from developing a simple single static page to more complex web applications/sites/apps.
Graphic design is the creation of visual concepts, using computer software or sometimes by hand, to communicate ideas that can inspire, inform, and captivate consumers/clients. Designers develop the overall layout and production design for applications like advertisements, brochures, magazines, books, marketing material etc.
Social Media Marketing is the use of social media and social networks to market a company's products and services. Social media marketing helps companies to engage with existing customers and reach new ones, and assisting them in reaching their full potential.

I am currently enrolled at Hyperion Dev doing the Full Stack Web Dev Course. My goal is to learn as much as I can, and aquire a internship at a company where I will be given the opportunity to grow and further my career as Web Developer.

If anyone told me a year ago, that I would be busy studying again, let alone to become a Web Developer, I would have called you crazy! Well, at the age of 42, let me tell you, it is no joke! I was never one to back down from a challenge before, and as soon as I realized how hard this was, I was seriously considering becoming a quiter.. But being the control-freak I am, and always wanting to prove everything to everyone, I threw myself into this thing wholeheartedly, some days with less bravado than others, but keeping my chin up and pushing through!
This is not a fancy blog, and I am not pretending to be a writer or anything, but merely trying to help others in similar "sticky" shoes, with some advice and tips I have gathered so far on my journey:

I am a Graphic Designer and Web Developer. I live and work in the beautiful coastal town of Hermanus.
